A Scent and Sense of Kellys
Developed as part of the Heritage Walk Leader Programme
A vibrant blue signboard, whose legs are, sadly, half-buried in the ever-rising concrete of the footpath, indicates the plans for a model housing scheme.
A campus connected to Denmark, Tranquebar and Purasai.
Verdant streets and stately Art Deco houses.
Streets bearing the names of long-forgotten English men, some of whom have left behind a rich legacy in the fields of art and medicine.
A school ‘founded on rock‘.Of erstwhile royals from an eastern state who have made their home in this city.
Join our Kelly’s walk to explore these questions.
The walk was developed under the Heritage Walk Leader Programme.
The walk will be led by Ms Latha Nathan. She tells the story of the neighbourhood that has been her home for the past two decades. She is a kolam artist, a saree lover, a storyteller and a heritage enthusiast. As a volunteer with an urban greening NGO, she has done many tree walks across the city.
