The scent of the sea. The noise of a bustling market. The sights of fishermen getting ready for their catches of the day. These are the scenes that welcome you to the fishing harbour of Kasimedu. This coastal area is home to fisherfolk from around 50 villages, each carrying a wealth of captivating stories and legends. Despite the challenges of modernisation and natural disasters, these communities remain deeply connected to their ancestral heritage.

Embark on a journey with us to explore the enchanting folklore of Kasimedu's fisherfolk. Discover their incredible tales of life at sea, unique rituals and traditions, profound reverence for the sea, both provider and protector and how they personify and exalt their giver and guardian.
