Mythology, Movies, and Modernity: A Walk through T Nagar
An area built on one of the long-lost lakes of Madras, T Nagar has it all: entertainment, politics, folklore, and captivating stories. T Nagar is still considered to be a predominantly commercial city. But there is more to the area than meets the eye, with several remnants of the ‘Old T Nagar’ hiding in plain sight. Although one of the younger areas of Chennai, T Nagar stands strong with a rich and diverse history.
Join us as we explore a different, lesser-known side of T Nagar, right from when it was nothing more than a cluster of villages, through the area’s folklore, the smaller shrines of folk deities, and the stories of Chennai’s political figures and film stars.
